Sewer Roaches

Cockroaches can adapt to any environment, so there are a variety of types. However, one of the most common is the sewer variety. These dirty underground places are perfect for these vermin to reproduce and thrive.

They are extremely humid, cold, dark places with enough waste to feed on for at least a century. The almost null human presence, makes these annoying insects can travel at will, even managed to sneak into the house if you get to have very bad luck. This is much more common if you live in a big city, however that does not mean that you have to face all this challenge alone. There are many ways to eliminate them. You just need to keep reading.

Roaches in sewer line, some remedies

Red, with wings that they use to fly, being able to move towards local and particular domiciles. Given their natural habitat they are a complex species to treat. And no, we’re not talking about aliens, we’re talking about the cockroaches that inhabit your city’s sewer lines, lines that give them access to your house through pipes. So at the first suspicion that you think those annoying and disgusting animals are inside your house, you have two options:

  • Some home remedies that you can use to try to mitigate the infestation.
  • Call a professional exterminator service before things get worse.

Although I know that the first one seems easier, and therefore is the most popular, if you think the cockroaches are too many for you, the best thing you can do is simply call the professional extermination services. They may be a bit expensive, but they are more effective. The plagues of cockroaches in our homes, false ceilings, bathrooms, kitchens or pantries is really dangerous, in their bodies inhabit countless bacteria pathogenic to man. They can also infect our food.  They are cross-contaminations that are produced through the insect.  That is why we sometimes know the pest control sector as vector control, if you control the vector, you control its bacteria.

How to prevent sewer roaches in house

The main way to prevent these annoying animals from entering your home is to clean it. Keep it completely clean, vacuum all rooms, especially those with pipes (e.g. bathroom, kitchen, washbasin, laundry room). Also check that these pipes are in optimum condition, without any leaks. This is due to the fact that these leaks, even if they seem harmless, are the main cause of the appearance of the plagues of cockroaches in sewers, since it not only represents an entrance for cockroaches, but also gives them an ideal habitat to reproduce.

How to prevent sewer roaches in drains

One of the favorite places cockroaches love to make their nests is in the drains. So to prevent them from thriving in such places, the best thing you can do is clean it up. Avoid creating that green cover of dirt and moisture that usually forms in the openings of the sites.

This can be done in different ways, but the most effective is to use chlorine, this will remove them from the root as well as prevent it from being generated in a long time, as it will burn them from the root. Avoid putting traps in those places, because their high levels of humidity can end up being counterproductive.

Sewer roach vs cockroach

The main difference between this species and other varieties is its size and color. They are much smaller than conventional cockroaches, generally measuring half of what a lifetime cockroach would measure. In addition, its color is coppery, instead of the wood coffee that its homemade counterparts count.

They are also more sensitive to light, because they are accustomed to being under the ground, in places where the light is virtually null.
